What Remains
This group of work is a response to forest fires of summer 2018 in BC and elsewhere. As a native east coaster, the fires were a new experience for me and left a haunting impression on me that lasted long after the smoke cleared. These paintings are an attempt to make sense of events that are simultaneously a natural process, a tragedy, and beautiful in their own way. Here I am seeking to create forms that have dimension, texture, and a sense of transformation and ongoing change even while static. All are ink, acrylic, and gouache on yupo, in two sizes, 26x40” and 12.5x19”. Shown in example frames. Please inquire for availability and prices.
