These images are another documentary practice I have had for over a decade. I am constantly noticing the light and color and texture around me and feel the need to collect these images. I do not leave my house much and the documentation of my environment is a way of documenting my own time here, the passage that is happening around me as I live my life. Many of. these images were taken from the front and back porches of the house I moved into in 2017 when we first moved to Vancouver. In 2024 we moved to a new house and I am in the process of establishing a new relationship to light and shadows in my new space. The blurring in these images is an attempt to look past the representational and see the color beneath the structure. I do not change the hue and saturation in these images much, the point is capturing the true color of the light. This work is ongoing. Get in touch to collect or show.
